This was my boyfriend now fiance's and my first trip just the 2 of us! the hotel was great, the view was amazing, the service was very good, the room had a few extras that were great like a microwave, minifridge, and others. It was a nicer room than what I expected by far! We ate there once and it was good. The beach could had stand to be cleaned a bit more often as some feel the sand is an ashtray. Wish we would have known that if you scuba or snorkel you could do it 30 feet off the beach as there was a reef. I did not get to see it but saw a lot of people swim out to explore. There was a ton of fishing at the 2 piers if you are into that and some great restaurants. We went to the everglades, snorkeled and kayaked in the brackens! I would recomend this place. Also we went end of Sept and if you can do it it is a great time to go. There are few vacationers at this time!

The Beachcomber was a great property right on Pompano beach. I stayed there for 6 nights and would recommend paying a bit more for the big oceanfront room, (which was very nicely decorated) and where you can sit on your fairly large balcony and enjoy looking out onto the ocean in very nice wicker lounge chairs. The entire facility was very clean, and well maintained with shopping and restuarants close by. Front desk manager was very nice, other employees I encountered were also very professional. There was a security guard that I saw consistantly walking the property which was good. Maid service was a bit lacking, and at times all that they did was change out the towels and did not straighten the room at all. Also, this is supposed to be a nonsmoking facility but guests smoked on their balconies and in the pool area, however management did address it with the those guests. Overall, I would definitely recommend this property and would stay there again it is a great property.

We stayed three days and the hotel is beautiful the only things I felt were not that great was the fact that in order to get ice we had to go to the lobby we were on the 8th floor and it was some what annoying after coming back from a full day of running around visiting friends or just partying to have to go all the way to the lobby for ice, the room was very small even the bathroom was kind of tight. Other than those two things we had a nice stay loved the peace and quiet also being right off the beach was just perfect.

The Beachcomber is a good hotel if you want a place to stay that is well kept, comfortable and close to the water. Don't bother paying extra for "ocean view", by their explanation all their rooms are ocean view, but ocean front faces onto the ocean and cost extra on top of ocean view. The staff are pretty closed mouth, but very helpfull if asked about enything. Even with all the weddings we never had a problem with noise or any disturbances. What is up with the TIKI bar closing at 5 PM. The meals were reasonably priced and well prepared. The on only thing was it was not convenient to anywhere else, although there is a small grocery store, cafe/bar and dive shop across the street, you had better rent a car or have a good taxi driver. Remember you are on A1A and go over to Hwy 1 (about 2mi) for everything else. All in all after 6 days there, we recommend the Beachcomber

IMy grandmother had passed away and need a room for me and my sister for 4 days. My mistake is that I did not read ALL the reviews on this site. Do not be foolish like me. The bad reviews are 100% correct. when you first walk in, your senses get assaulted by the musty smell. I was willing to overlook that if the room was clean. We book European room..BIG Mistake unless you like to sleep in a room that looks like a dungeon. upgraded for a fee and was given a room with a double bed and a pool and beach view. HaLlways are gross depressing, dirty. Killed two small bugs , couldnt tell what they where at that time. went out for a bit came back , we were getting ready for bed and m sister brought me the coffe cup they leave by the coffe maker and there was a roach in it. Inspected the fridge and there was about four roaches crawling on it !!!! called travel online because I wanted to check out. As I was on the phone talking to them, roach was crawling up the wall!!! All I can say is the front desk staff was nice and did not charge us and gave us a full refund. Left at 1:30 in the morning roaming A1A for another hotel. Needless to say, we slept on the floor at my parents condo..that was luxurious compared to this NIGHTMARE!!!!!
