Tampa Bay's Raymond James Stadium is set to host the Super Bowl in
2009, so it's time to buy tickets, reserve a hotel and plan to explore car rental deals today. It is the
pleasant
February weather that makes Tampa one of the more attractive
venues to
host the Super Bowl.
The 43rd edition of the Super Bowl is already all planned out, with Al
Michaels and John Madden set to host the game for NBC. Interestingly,
the NFL even explored the option of moving the Pro Bowl, which is
played in Hawaii, to the hosting site of the Super Bowl beginning in
2009 but opted against it in the end.
Tampa of course also hosts the Outback Bowl, which saw the Michigan
Wolverines upset the Florida Gators last year. The thing that makes
Raymond James Stadium unique is the cannon ball "boom" that is felt
from the Pirate ship, which sits at one end of the end zone (plug your
ears). It is also the same field that the University of South Florida
(USF) Bulls play their football games.
The possibilities are endless in the Tampa, FL area as you can discover
the rich fishing opportunities in the Gulf of Mexico, lay on
the beautiful white sand beaches located nearby and at night hang out
at YBor City for a good time.
Among the family sights and activities to explore is Busch Gardens and
the Florida Aquarium, both of which will lend a reminder of the vast
array of wildlife in the sunshine state.
When it's time for a good meal Tampa will not disappoint, as Mise en
Place, Catch Twenty Three, Restaurant BT and Bern's Steak House are all
excellent selections.
When it's time to go out at night, YBor City will not let you down.
Hyde Park Cafe, Four Green Fields, New World Brewery and Club Prana and
the Press Box Sports Emporium are just a few of the many good time to
be had.
Tampa is a great place to host the Super bowl, which is why they beat
out Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX, and Miami, FL for the most anticipated
sporting event in the USA.
