It’s about that time again, when the winter festivities and good cheer ushers in more opportunities – at discounted rates – than at any other time during the year. Atlanta Is No Different! With the onrush of deals from multiple retailers and travel agents this year seems to offer more than ever before. There are deals for the kids, affordable family outing opportunities and more.
Celtic Christmas
As the countdown to Christmas Day begins, the Rialto Center for the Arts is opting to celebrate in style with a Celtic Christmas on December 20th. Red, green and earth tones bring in the holiday cheer in a festive music and dance show, which will feature Celtic pipers, fiddlers and other entertainers – including the Grammy Award finalist John Doyle, strumming his guitar and singing native songs from Dublin. Tickets are fully half-off with a 50% discount.
The Nutcracker
The esteemed Atlanta Ballet Orchestra is live at the Fox Theatre for their annual run between December 11-28, to perform Tchaikovsky’s the Nutcracker with the Atlanta Ballet. This time-honored classic is helmed by capable conductor Gary Sheldon and choreographed by John McFall, and will run at multiple evening times for nearly two weeks straight – skipping, of course, Christmas Day. Promo codes can be redeemed online at the Atlanta Ballet website.
Botanical Gardens
For the past three years, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens have been a wondrous descent into a world of lights and colors during the winter holiday season. Attractions such as the Radiant Rainforest and Glittering Galaxy see peak admission throughout the weekend, where the deals come in droves for adults and young children – children younger than 3 get in for free. It costs a bit less during non-peak admission weekdays, but you can bet your Christmas tree that it’ll be filled with merry well-wishers no matter what day you go between Dec 18th and Jan 3rd. The kicker here is that the light show is half-off this year.
Jingle Jam
If you’re a fan of Star 94 radio station, then you’ll enjoy the 50% discount to attend their Jingle Jam concert on December 18. It will take place at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Centre, and feature some of the coolest rising bands on the local scene and beyond. Lindsey Stirling will be there, as will The Script and Echosmith.
This is just a smattering of the holiday deals in Atlanta, check online for updates and additions as the countdown to Christmas continues.
