Visiting Disney is a tradition which all families should have the pleasure of enjoying. However, one of the things which Disney is notorious for are the long lines in the park. To make your next trip to Disney easier, check out these great hacks.
Take Advantage of What Disney Offers
Get around the park faster with FastPass+ and MyMagic+ bands. FastPass+ is your way to jump the line. You register for rides and experiences online or with the app before you even get to the park. Once there, your spot will be waiting for you. With MyMagic+ bands, you have FastPass+ as well as your hotel reservation, personalized bands and access to park photos. This is a supreme Disney experience all on your wrist.
Have the Apps
Everyone loves Disney. Therefore, the tech lovers were smart enough to bring the inside scoop to your phone. There are apps with FastPass or MagicBand which tell you about the wait time for certain rides. You will not have to wait an hour and a half at Space Mountain. Simply watch the app and when the best time to strike arises, make your way over to the best rides.
Protect the Kids
Kids can get distracted by the magic of Disney and wander off. Their MagicBand has information about the hotel and their name, but does not have everything. Write your name and cell number on your child's wrist. Cover the number with liquid bandage and in case of emergency, you will be able to be contacted in no time.
Get Dressed Up Before You Are in the Park
Princess dresses and shirts can be purchased outside of Disney. Head to Target to get great costumes for your kids. These will be much less expensive than the ones for sale inside the park. Additionally, if your child is already dressed up, they will not demand a costume change when they see everyone else dressed up at the park.
Finding the Princess
It can be heartbreaking for a child to plan to come to Disney just to meet a certain princess, only to spend the entire day searching for her in vain. Schedule a meet and greet with Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella or others during a character dining experience.
Souvenirs for Just Pennies
When it comes to bringing a peace of Disney home, your child may want everything they see. At many of the stores around the park, there are press-a-penny machines. Not only will your child have something great to take home, they will have the fun of pressing the penny, for mere pennies.
Lunch A La Cart
Kids are picky eaters and Disney knows this. While it is not mentioned on the menu, simply ask for items a la cart and you can save a bit of money and satiate a picky eater.
Mom and Dad Can Ride
There are "Rider Switch" policy passes which parents can get. These passes allow one parent to ride the ride while the other is watching the kids. Then, the other parent can ride the ride without having to wait in line all over again. This is wonderful for when you want to ride Space Mountain, but the kids are only tall enough for Dumbo.
Be the Early Bird
At Disney, it is about being in the right place at the right time. Even the parking has a line. Be at the park a half hour before they open to get the best spot parking and to be the first in line.
With these hacks in mind, you'll enjoy the magic of Disney.
