Stay cool at water parks while traveling this summer

Many of our E-Z Rent-A-Car customer service agents get asked questions about the local activities when renting out cars. During the summer those questions are related to cool spots like water parks. Several of our destination cities feature some of the best water parks in the country. Keep these in mind for your next visit.

One city that you would not expect to find a water park is Denver. This park calls itself America’s Biggest and Best, Water World features 49 water rides in a 64 acre park. Located a short drive north of Denver, and open from late May to early September, this park is a full days adventure. This year guest can try the new Mile High Flyer, a “hydromagnetic” water coaster that takes you flying up and down for two full minutes of fun and fear.

The #1 vacation destination, Orlando FL, is home to several water parks to aid in beating the Florida heat. One of the most-visited water park in the world with more than 2 million guests a year is Typhoon Lagoon at Disney World. The most popular attractions include a Surf Pool, the country’s largest wave pool, churning out six-foot waves in an area the size of two football fields. Looking to be adventurous, then head over to Shark Reef, where you can snorkel with sharks. New to the park is Crush ’n’ Gusher, a 400-foot whitewater raft ride that’s stocked with steep plunges and hairpin turns.

Located a short drive north from downtown Atlanta is White Water by Six Flags. Open during the summer months, this park has a 9-story ride called the Cliffhanger, one of the tallest free-fall slides in the world. It’s also where you’ll find the Dragon’s Tail, 250-foot triple drop body slide, and the scream inducing Tornado raft slide, dropping rider’s more than seven stories into a 60-foot-tall, 132-foot-long water funnel, then through 5,000 gallons of churning water.

Did we miss out mentioning your favorite water park? Look for the post about this blog on our Facebook page and let us know your favorite. We look forward to hearing from you.
