Often when people go to Atlanta, for either work or pleasure, they fail to travel too far out of the city itself. Obviously this is completely understandable considering the city is full of so many great activities, attractions, restaurants and events. However, the areas outside of Atlanta also have a lot to offer and so we wanted to spend some time focusing on those. After all, when you have your Atlanta rental car you will be able to easily explore the area.
Turner Field: Without a doubt one of the favorite destinations of our Hartsfield-Jackson Airport rental car location is home of the Braves baseball team, Turner Field. Guided tours of Turner Field are offered year round and include the Braves Museum and Hall of Fame. Of course, even better is to visit the famous field during baseball season and see a game. The Braves are a well loved Atlanta institution making games quite the fun and energetic experience to be a part of.
Sandy Springs: Located just north of Atlanta, Sandy Springs is actually Georgia’s sixth largest city. The opportunities for fun in Sandy Springs are truly endless and variety enough for every travelers preference. The outdoor and nature lover can enjoy the over 20 miles of shoreline along the Chattahoochee River, as well as 11 parks. The historian can visit the Anne Frank Exhibit and the CNN Center. The Arts and Culture buff can visit the famous Lefont Theaters, the World of Coca-Cola and the High Museum of Art. As you can see Sandy Springs offers enough variety for a trip all to itself.
Madison: Are you looking to truly get a taste of the old south? Madison Georgia, located in Morgan County is the place for you to find it It is not often that you can simply jumped into your Atlanta rental car, drive an hour south and be transported into the past. History buffs might know Madison as the town that Sherman refused to burn in his infamous ‘March to the Sea”. Its historic district boasts the state’s largest collection of 19th century architecture and it was named one of the 16 Most Picturesque Villages in the World. Need more of a reason to visit? We didn’t think so.
