Traveling can be a joy or it can be a real pain in the butt. If you are out and about and on the move this year try to make it an Appy New Year by downloading some of the best travel apps. Some of these apps you've heard of before, some of them you may have not; but all can make your travel that much less stressful in 2015 and beyond!

Quizlet:
If you are out and on the move but need to keep sharp, Quizlet is your answer. Quizlet is something of a study app, but it's a lot of fun too. You can browse through the flashcards of information about anything and everything and you can practice the knowledge you've gained. You can even quiz yourself by making your own flashcards and testing yourself. The great news about your own flashcards is that you don't even need to be in a Wi-Fi zone to see what you've given yourself. Download a bunch of stuff and you can learn a new language, get hip to business terminology, teach yourself physics concepts or something even more insane!

Trover:
If you've tried Instagram and Trip Advisor and you're bored with those apps, why not get down and trove with Trover. Trover takes users photos who can then add descriptions and submit recommendations (or not) for one spot or another. Beware the accuracy though; people in Williamsburg just might not want you in their neighborhood anymore. Still Trover claims to be your "real traveler stories" and they want to be your spot where you can discover the best of everywhere!

Localeur:
Another newer app is Localuer. This app gets you down and dirty with all of your favorite new spots as told by the locals who love their town. The lists you find on this app may seem irreverent (DC Power Lunches: Where to Mix Bites & Business, Atlanta Nightlife for Cool Kids....) but oftentimes we are just looking for something a little bit outside of the box. When you're on Localeur they want you to feel just as at home with these destinations as the locals themselves.

Uber:
The uber-popular app which can make your trips anywhere a breeze, Uber is the place where you can find your ride, split your fare, get reliable pickups, and not even have to wave around any cash. This last point can be especially popular if you are in a strange place or a big city and you don't want to be a mark. Uber is also a great way to come and go from the airport of your destination city allowing you to turn and chuckle at all the yellow cab lines.

Instagram:
If you can't stand being outside the box of anything then Instagram is quickly becoming the go-to app for the traveling masses. A massive 300 million users and growing can't be wrong. Instagram is where you can take pictures of magic, share your adventures, and learn about what makes other people's travels feel great. You are going to need to have a look around as the site has gotten so huge but when you find something special from some of the users, it can be a life-affirming experience.

Of course, there are scores of apps for the road-weary traveler with new ones popping up every day. What are some of the apps that you use to make your traveling a little less stressful?
