When it’s time for vacationing, many families pack their itineraries with tons of activities, events and attractions to keep themselves entertained during their trip. And though these may keep everyone busy for the bulk of it, there will still be inevitable downtime (waiting for a flight, driving to or from a local attraction, etc.) that children will want to fill with entertainment.
And while it’s certainly better for kids to use their imaginations to create their own games and activities, in today’s technology-consumed world, there are times when playing pretend and singing songs just won’t cut it. For those times, use these kid-friendly apps to help with keeping your munchkins smiling while they wait:
Geocaching – For those who have some spare time, this app is perfect for 21st-century treasure hunting. Users can select from more than 2 million Geocaching locations across the globe to find unique treasures in hidden spots. Plus, users can even trade their knick knacks with other people and continue the adventure!
Little Red Riding Hood – Using an innovative, user-generated structure, this fully animated app offers a new take on the traditional story of Little Red Riding Hood, letting kids create their own versions of the tale.
Postagram – This free app is ideal for sharing vacation memories with friends and family, letting users customize their photos and turn them into physical postcards ($1 each) to send out anywhere in the world.
