Pike Place Market
One of the most visited historical sites in Seattle is Pike Place Market, which is one of the oldest farmers markets in the United States. This market is known for a variety of things and is located in downtown Seattle over a nine-acre historic district. Pike Place Market features ethnic groceries, fresh fish, produce stands, gift stores, collectibles, antiques, cafes, food bars, classic clothing, and international restaurants. In addition, the market offers street musicians who provide entertainment at designated locations throughout the market area. Pike Place Market can be found between Union and 
Stewart Streets connected by First and Western Avenues.

Seattle Waterfront
Another historic site in Seattle that offers a wealth of history regarding the city is the Waterfront. The waterfront provides views of cruise liners and tour boats. The best harbor views can be found on Seattle’s central waterfront that stretches along from Pier 70 Alaskan Way to Pier 48 on the north. Moreover, Pier 59 contains the Seattle Aquarium and Pier 66 is home for the Bell Street Terminal. The Seattle Waterfront also provides visitors with access to gift shops and great seafood dining.

 

The Seattle Center
For people who are interested in the arts, The Seattle Center is a historical site that must be visited. The center is located on a 74 acre park, and it contains the Pacific Science Center, Space Needle, Experience Music Project, Hall of Fame, Seattle Opera, Northwest Ballet, Science Fiction Museum, Seattle Children’s Theatre, and the Seattle Children’s Museum. Also, The Seattle Center hosts many large festivals that are held in Seattle, which include the Seattle Arts Festival, the Northwest Folklife Festival, Bumbershoot, and the Magic Giant Children’s Festival.

Pioneer Square
The Pioneer Square is spread over 20 square blocks that contain museums, Victorian Romanesque architecture, art galleries, and many restaurants. The Pioneer Square is well known for its activity during the 1800s, which included being a popular location regarding the Gold rush in the 1890s. Today, the Pioneer Square offers visitors many options that include an underground tour that shows how the town looked centuries ago.

There are many great historical sites in Seattle that visitors can see. These sites give visitors a great sense of the history of Seattle while providing an excellent glimpse into the modern living that Seattle provides for its citizens. For families who are looking to visit Seattle, the historic district should be visited. It provides a rare view of Seattle that is hard to describe, and even harder to forget.
