So you plan on visiting Denver this summer? Great choice! The mile high city is full of great things to do year round, but is particularly active in the summer time when residents and visitors alike can get out and enjoy the natural scenery that surrounds them.
Our Denver Airport car rental staff enjoys a wide ranges of summertime activities, including shopping, hiking, visiting some of Denver’s excellent art galleries and museums and most of all enjoying a endless line up of fantastic outdoor music concerts.
But we want to talk about shopping today!!! Denver locals will rave about some of the great shopping in the and around the cities and we fill it is really a hidden gem that needs to be exposed. Not only is it home to some large indoor and outdoor shopping areas, it also boasts a variety of fantastic boutique and specialty shops that you can find no where else.
Some of our favorite shopping destinations includes Belmar Outdoor Shopping and Dining District, Downtown Denver’s 16th Street Mall and of course, Cherry Creek, which is actually so large it is referred to as a ‘shopping and dining neighborhood’ (yep, you heard us right!)
Cherry Creek consists of both Cherry Creek North and the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, hence giving it it’s ‘neighborhood’ status and the largest most varied shopping destination between Chicago and San Francisco. With over 320 independently owned shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and spas, Cherry Creek North offers 16 blocks of retail therapy. And the upscale Cherry Creek Shopping Center plays the part of a more traditional mall atmosphere with more than 160 shops, 40 of which are exclusive to the area (Denver loves it’s locals).
To top it off the neighborhood has beautiful tree-lined streets and parks, quiet gardens, and public art displayed everywhere to make it an all around fantastic experience for everyone. There is even a 22-mile Cherry Creek Bike Path that connects the neighborhood to downtown.
No post about shopping in Denver though would be complete without a shout out to some of the amazing neighborhood boutiques, artsy museum like stores and fun, hip fashion trendsetters that line the streets of Denver’s many diverse neighborhoods. These stores provide more than retail, they add to the overall culture and vibe of the communities they are in.
So when you come to Denver this summer, take a break from the heat for a bit and explore our shopping. You won’t be disappointed (but your check book might hurt a bit)
