The Orlando International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. If you are planning to travel to this site for a family vacation, you should check out these perks they have for travelers!
On-Site Accommodation
Give your family the gift of convenience by checking in at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. The hotel personnel will personally collect your baggage at the baggage claim and effortlessly deliver it right to your plush guestroom. At the hotel itself, there are many benefits provided including free Internet access, shuttles, and laundry.
You will moreover find various other hotels within the vicinity, for instance Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, and many more.
Transportation
Usually, hotels provide hotel shuttles for you to travel to your hotel (and to the airport, as well as several destinations) without any additional charge. If you decide to stay on-site, there are buses, a shuttle van, and taxis available from the airport to take you to local tourist attractions. Keep in mind that these different modes of transportation are available at additional charges (and their rates differ too).
You can furthermore choose to go by limousine, which can cost anything from $50 to $90 per hour to all destinations, which include Walt Disney World, Winter Park/Maitland, Lake Buena Vista, and Downtown Orlando. Do you find it difficult to get a taxi or limousine? Do not worry, because you can ask any of the friendly airport personnel to help you get hold of one.
Another way to travel in Orlando from the airport will be to rent a car. Many car rental agencies have their own offices on-site. You can effortlessly rent a minivan or car at an affordable rate and more often than not, the rate comes with an airport discount! Sound appealing? Check out E-Z Rent-A-Car, located right in the terminal!
Shops and Restaurants
There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the airport that are catering for adults and kids. Drop by at Chick-Fil-A, Panda Express, or Macaroni Grill for a quick bite. If you prefer a more exclusive dining experience during your travel, visit McCoys or Hemisphere at the Hyatt Regency hotel located on-site. For kids, and even adults who love donuts or ice cream, Krispy Kreme or McDonald’s is certainly a good choice.
L’Occitane or Perfumania is a first class alternative if you want to purchase gifts for relatives or friends. There are also clothing shops, such as GUESS, Ron Jon’s Surf Shop, or Harley Davidson. Be sure to drop by a bookstore, especially if you forgot to bring a book to read during your flight.
For your convenience, you will in addition find several ATM machines, Internet kiosks, a FedEd Drop Box, and a walk-in clinic at the Orlando International Airport.
Art Program
Art is known to be a fundamental aspect of the overall design of the airport and the Orlando International Airport is perhaps the only airport that offers visitors the opportunity to view brilliant art pieces without charging them a penny. You will come across several chosen pieces that replicate highlights of the airport’s everlasting art collection. The collection consists of artworks reflecting a range of styles and media. The photo you see above is actually a piece of art itself! It's a statue called "The Traveler" by Duane Hanson that you can find in Terminal A. Additionally, it unites the green foliage, light filled areas, and broad architectural spaces to construct an extraordinary impression of the state’s natural beauty, brightness, and warmth.
